If you've been struggling with getting your
business or website up and running, these points are key to getting
started on the right foot and building a long-term, sustainable income

Here is the single most important part of doing any business & especially an internet business:
Just Do Something!
Don't sit around examining the entire internet trying to make the perfect choice before you dive into your new life. The net and the number of business ideas you can build via the net is really endless; you will flat wear yourself out researching it and suddenly end up doing nothing! I mean it; you have to pick something quickly and do it as fast as possible. It will probably evolve into something else one day anyway.
Don't try to do it perfectly, fly through it for 2 weeks and get the ball rolling. After all, no one will see your website for some time anyway unless you start doing pay-per-clicks; so, perfection is not needed in the beginning. Besides, while you're sitting there trying to perfect each little graphic or line of text; you'll forget half of the great ideas that are flowing through your head while you're in the "Creation Mode". After "Creation" is done you can go into "Edit Mode" are make it fit exactly what you want.
Now, there are thousands of things to consider when building your website in order to maximize search engine rankings - SEO & customer conversions but if you're new to this, take care of those things later.

Stay focused!
Don't get suckered in to buying everything people email you about ecommerce. There are many great teachers and many great products available, but if it doesn't fit where you are right now with your business, it will waste your time and money - leading to a stalemate of actually building your website.

You can get a better start on a shoestring budget!
That's right, the less money you have, the better chance most of you will have at succeeding. Since most of you will not take Keys 1 & 2 seriously, a financial constraint may be the best friend you have. You can start just fine and get a website online with your own domain name for just $10 (not counting your ISP - Internet Service Provider). When you're on a low budget like I was in the beginning, you're basically forced to make do with what you have.

You must have a pressing need!
If you woke up yesterday with nothing else to do and decided to start an internet business from home, you won't make it. It takes work - lots of it. Unless you're extremely disciplined, treating it as a hobby will not bring success. You must have a desire for something so great that everything depends on making this business work. You must have a reason greater than just making money. It has to drive you every single day. This business has to be the only chance you currently see of getting what you want or getting away from what you now have and don't want.

Focus on YOUR PASSION!
When you focus on your passion, you will always be
excited about your business and always look forward
to the next great hurdle. Can you build a
business in areas that you're not passionate about?
Sure, but sooner or later, regardless of how much
money you're making, you'll see your own business as
just another job. Sure you can always hire managers
to handle what you once did, but you'll be starting
something new because you're heart wasn't in it.

Plan out your Vision!
As you business idea develops, you must imagine
where you expect that business to be 5 or 10 years
into the future. What yearly revenue? How many team
members? How many customers? Your position and image
in the industry? Different company divisions?
Management for each division? Your lifestyle? Your
etc... The more you think about it, the clearer and
more vivid you can see your future. If you see it
with "the end" in mind, it is much easier to lay out
the foundation.
When you build a house, do you pour a slab for one
room and then build that one room only to pour
another slab the next week for the next room and so
on? Small business owners often build their businesses
this way because they have no clear vision for where
they are heading. Even though you may not start with
a full staff and several departments, you can begin
putting systems, documentation, and policies in place
that will take you there.
